Eleven years later, Lily enters Stanford University, while she and Owen harbor mutual romantic feelings. Tamara, Lily's newly released biological mother, teams up with Ashley, a jealous intern reporter, to maliciously smear Lily online as an ungrateful daughter who framed her parents, leading to Lily’s university suspension. During a nationwide livestreamed hearing, Owen acts as Lily's hero, arriving with the original police chief and definitive evidence—including old court files and an extortion recording—to clear Lily’s name. In the end, the villains are brought to justice once more, and Lily embraces a bright, hopeful future with her loved ones.
