Loyal guards join him. The old base is ravaged by cold and plague. Preston Chapman attacks the new base, defeated and exiled by Zane Locke. Leland Shaw repents, Derek Sutton is sentenced. The new base grows strong, contacts the Southern Coalition Outpost, ushering in a new beginning.
