Serena, a senior executive at Vance Capital, is tricked into falling overboard and becoming deaf by her husband Ethan and his assistant Mia, who plot to embezzle her assets. After unexpectedly regaining her hearing, Serena feigns deafness to secretly gather evidence, evading multiple attempts to harm her, including arson and a fall overboard. With the help of her childhood sweetheart Lucas, she exposes their crimes publicly on a cruise ship. After his release from prison, Ethan colludes with shareholders and the Mafia to retaliate, and also joins forces with Mia to kidnap their daughter for ransom, but they are all eventually apprehended. Serena also learns that Lucas was the one who saved her years ago, and Ethan has been claiming credit for it. Ultimately, the villains are punished, Serena regains her career, and overcomes her past trauma.
