From the Basement to Black Swan

From the Basement to Black Swan tells the cold revenge story of a former financial queen who was humiliated by her husband, his mistress, and her own children, only to reclaim her identity as the “Black Swan” and take back her innocence and dignity on the battlefield of capital. Amanda was once Wall Street’s sharpest risk-modeling expert. With her legendary “Black Swan Model,” she became a myth in the financial world. Years later, however, she has been reduced to a housewife living in a Los Angeles mansion, constantly humiliated by her husband Brandon, his mistress Chloe, and their two children, Tommy and Natalie. Brandon built his fortune using the model Amanda created, but he took all the credit for himself. Now that his company is facing a financial crisis, he shows no gratitude toward Amanda. Instead, he conspires with Chloe to treat her as a burden that can be discarded at any time. At the beginning of the story, Amanda is humiliated in the mansion’s dining room. Her breakfast is thrown at her, and her children record videos mocking her. Brandon openly brings Chloe into the house and orders Amanda to leave the master bedroom and move into the basement laundry room. Chloe takes over the role of the lady of the house, deliberately dumping Amanda’s breakfast in front of her and provoking her about her marriage and dignity. Tommy and Natalie also side with their father and Chloe, treating their own mother like a servant, a lunatic, and a joke.
