Mia Lane is Nathan Reed’s wife—a woman whose presence has been overshadowed in her marriage. She once loved Nathan so deeply that she gave up her acting dreams, accepted the Reed family’s rules, took care of her husband, children, and in-laws, and supported her adopted sister Tiffany Lane as if she were her own, helping her break into the entertainment industry. A fire in a warehouse on the film set changed everything.
Mia visited the set with her son Noah, but Tiffany lured her into the prop warehouse. Tiffany taunted her to her face, claiming she was pregnant with Nathan’s child, and asked, “If we were both in danger, who would he save first?” When the fire alarm went off, Nathan rushed over but, believing Tiffany’s story, carried her—who was pretending to be weak—out of the fire first. Mia and Noah were trapped in thick smoke and only managed to escape by activating the emergency sprinklers and using the staff exit.
