Gwen is rushed to the hospital for an emergency C-section. As doctors prepare to administer anesthesia, she panics and calls her husband Mark—but he ignores her. Her mother-in-law answers the second call, dismissing Gwen’s pleas, saying she’s busy at a charity concert raising funds for Mark’s high school sweetheart, Jana. When Mark finally picks up, he coldly says, “Handle it yourself,” and hangs up as blood streams down her legs. Days later, Gwen leaves the hospital alone with her baby.
