Linda Miller and Adam May have been married for seven years, but Adam always seems distant with her and their daughter, Molly. One day, the three of them head to an amusement park to celebrate Molly's birthday. There, they run into Adam's first love, Mollen Carter, and her son, Alex. Ignoring Molly, Adam joins Mollen and her son on the carousel. Meanwhile, Molly, who suffers from a congenital heart condition, suddenly falls ill and slips into a crisis.
