Wall Street tycoon Charlie, in revenge for his brother's tragic death in prison, went all out to short the family business of his former beloved Rachel, causing the former Manhattan socialite to lose her family overnight. Rachel was forced to sign a debt contract to save her imprisoned and sick father, becoming a tool for Charlie to vent his hatred. Charlie not only hired scheming woman Emma as a substitute to humiliate her, but also forced Rachel to donate bone marrow for Emma, who falsely claimed to have leukemia, by using her father's medical parole qualifications.
After Rachel sacrificed half her life, her father still died in prison due to Emma's covert obstruction of treatment. Desperate Rachel unexpectedly discovers that she is pregnant. She intended to secretly keep the child, but was framed by Emma and forced to draw a large amount of blood, ultimately resulting in a miscarriage. Rachel, who had lost her loved ones and flesh and blood one after another, lost all hope and jumped off the Brooklyn Bridge. Fortunately, lifeguard Matthew saved her, but due to a severe brain injury, she lost her memory and deteriorated into a child.
Charlie later uncovered all the conspiracies and punished Emma for her wrongdoing. It took another five years to find Rachel, who was hiding in a run down trailer camp in Texas. He concealed his past humble companionship and tried his best to redeem himself, attempting to make up for his past mistakes.
