Leo, a middle-school football player, has spent years finishing at the bottom of every tryout, weighed down by insecurity. One day, in an abandoned clock tower behind the school, he discovers a golden wish-granting football and a magical spirit named Wish. Every time he makes a wish, a golden mark appears on his wrist, symbolizing the price he must pay.
Leo wishes to be chosen first, to win every game, and to become the center of attention at school. Step by step, he gains applause and admiration, but he slowly loses himself and pushes away his best friend, Jay. Ryan, jealous of Leo, steals the football and begins making wishes of his own — to win his father’s attention and become a football star. But he too is consumed by desire.
As the golden football cracks from too many wishes, Wish begins to fade away. In the end, both boys finally realize that magic can’t buy true friendship or self-worth. At the end of Season One, deep inside the clock tower, a black Regret Football appears — hinting that a new crisis built around desire is about to begin.
