Mary has been madly infatuated with Roderick for eight years. However, her overwhelming passion makes him uncomfortable, and he sends her to a so-called Love Addiction Rehabilitation Center.
Seemingly a formal institution, the place is actually a living hell. For three years, Mary suffers constant flogging and abuse. One of her kidneys is secretly removed without her knowledge. The long-term torture leaves her with lung cancer, and she is given only six months to live.

In the end, with the company of the gentle and kind Leonard, Mary walks out of her trauma, fights cancer actively, regains her health, learns to love herself again, and embraces a brand-new life. As for Roderick, he leaves for a remote mountain area, spending the rest of his life in lonely atonement.
