Outer Sect disciple Jenna awakens through mysterious viewer comments and learns that the black snake Hades, red bird Ignis, and yellow dog Kael she raised are ancient beasts draining her Fortune. In the original plot, she dies to benefit Seraphina Dalton and the three beasts. Jenna cuts her losses, sells the Fortune-devouring beasts to the greedy Seraphina, and keeps only Kael, a Pixiu who came to repay her kindness. Together, they form a Life-and-Death Pact.
