She bathes the egg with her blood and prayers—nothing. Bored and greedy, Rhaegar auctions her off. The most feared creature in the North—Cade Shadow, the Werewolf King—bids three entire mines and buys her.Leia expects hell. Instead, Cade kneels before her, swearing loyalty, burying her in wealth and his wolf army.
Rhaegar can't accept losing the Dragon's Daughter. He sets a deadly trap and mortally wounds Cade. As flames consume them, Leia holds the egg—and in the inferno, it cracks. A dragon hatches. Leia rises from the fire, wings of red‑gold spreading behind her. Before the assembled armies, she declared war on Rhaegar.
