At the age of 28, Lucile gave everything she had to support her best friend Christa. Yet after a car accident, her husband Antonio and her own parents seized the only heart that was a perfect match to save her life.
Refusing to wait for another transplant, she endured her final three days relying on strong painkillers. She silently yielded to every demand: her parents forcing her to apologize, and her husband pressuring her to have an abortion and divorce him. Everyone praised her for finally being "sensible", but no one noticed the blood trickling from the corner of her mouth, nor the death note she had long written.
On the third day, Lucile walked alone into the hailstorm by the sea and passed away. She returned as a ghost, watching everyone break down completely when the doctor revealed the cruel truth.
Clues found at her funeral and the audio recording of the car accident exposed Christa's true colors: she had deliberately caused the crash and faked being a victim. Christa failed to flee with Lucile's savings. For two years, she lived in agony, tormented by organ rejection and endless fear, until she died a miserable death.
Lucile's parents spent the rest of their lives confined to her room, drowning in remorse. Antonio came to her tomb every year, begging for her forgiveness. But Lucile had long let go of all her obsessions. She cared no more about forgiveness or hatred. In the end, she walked toward the light and gained true freedom.
