Five young people, each harboring their own secrets, are forcibly thrust into a terrifying hunting ground woven from American urban legends—such as the Wendigo and Skinwalkers—where they face a brutal elimination mechanism: they can resurrect infinitely after death, but the cost is the precise stripping away of core fragments of their humanity, including their fingers, hearing, emotions, and memories. Led by Jack, the team evolves from initial suspicion and selfishness toward unity; not only do they defy the "omens of death," but upon discovering the grim truth—that "winning" the game merely transforms them into the next generation of ruthless hunters—they turn the monsters' weaknesses against them in a desperate counterattack. Ultimately, Jack sacrifices all his painful wartime memories to seal the cycle and leads the survivors—scarred yet awakened—back to reality, only to receive a lethal text message at the final moment announcing the start of a second round.
