Arthur Bennett, a reclusive tycoon who hides his true identity, disguises himself as a farmer to raise his son Jason Bennett. His former protégé Marcus Thorne, driven by revenge, launches successive attacks on America with overseas capital: he brings down Arthur Bennett’s Sunshine Group, imposes a full economic blockade, and sparks a nationwide food crisis. Arthur Bennett defuses the crisis and thwarts Marcus Thorne’s conspiracy using his years-in-development "Super Vegetable". Meanwhile, his son Jason Bennett misses the finance program admission to Tsinghua and Peking universities by just one point. Having long felt inferior about his father’s life as a farmer, he drowns his sorrows in alcohol. Arthur Bennett then reveals his multiple identities, resolving his son’s emotional turmoil. Cornered and desperate, Marcus Thorne kidnaps the Bennett father and son in retaliation, only to be subdued by the joint efforts of Sophia Lane and law enforcement officers.
