A poor widow, Peach, saves Blackberry, head of the Berry family, when he is on the verge of fatal dehydration and shattering, using her own milk. Born allergic to all juices, Blackberry awakens to discover her milk is the one and only antidote he can accept—and one he desperately craves. To make a living, Peach hides her identity and takes a job as wet nurse to Blackberry's nephew, Goldenberry.
