A disbeliever in gods and ghosts, villager Zane Walker ignores all warnings to fish in a river rumored to be home to a River Kelpie. His goal is to catch a large fish for his frail, pregnant wife. Afterward, he encounters a series of bizarre events, from nearly drowning to his home being invaded. He begins to search for the truth, uncovering the hidden and dark past connected to the river.
