The Moretti family once controlled the South Harbor dockworkers’ union, stevedoring contracts, nightclub security, and shady cash flows. Valentina Moretti’s father was an old-school port mobster. After his death, Valentina took over Moretti Logistics and voluntarily withdrew from drug, arms, and human trafficking, retaining only legitimate port logistics, private security, nightclubs, and influence over the union. The media still calls her “The Harbor Queen.” Grace Quinn is an Irish-American, a former Marine Corps military police officer, and currently an agent with the FBI’s Organized Crime Division. Her undercover operation was not arranged privately by the district attorney but was jointly authorized by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts and the FBI. Senior FBI Agent Diane Chen is her direct supervisor. District Attorney Evan Moretti, Valentina’s half-brother, provides intelligence but has no authority to direct Grace. Grace infiltrated the Moretti estate posing as a candidate for a private security guard position, tasked with confirming whether Valentina had embezzled disaster relief funds, manipulated union pension funds, laundered money, and obstructed a federal investigation. But the investigation soon took a turn. Valentina was not the mastermind.
