Ezrah Gannon's unloved wife, Zora, discovers his affair with Piper Henshaw while pregnant. A car accident causes her miscarriage, and Ezrah's indifference shatters her. Heartbroken, Zora fakes her death, becoming Michelle Banks with her parents' aid. She moves to LA, becomes a successful actress and CEO of MRAB Group, entering a contract marriage with Mr. Newman's comatose son, Sebastian, to fund her revenge. Michelle discovers Piper is Sebastian's ex-girlfriend and mother of his child. Back in New York, Michelle's company targets Piper's family business. At her movie premiere, Ezrah recognizes and confronts Michelle as Zora. Michelle tricks Piper into confessing her manipulative past, including Sebastian's accident.
