In a rural Japanese village during the Showa era, a couple tricks their six-year-old daughter into hiding inside an iron cabinet and leaves for the city. Twenty years later, they return to the old house and find the impossible: their daughter is still there, still six, still waiting for the game to end. As the buried truth resurfaces, the family is dragged back into the same cabinet of despair they once created.
