Private investigator Dorian Blackwood returns to his hometown after twenty years, drawn back by a chilling case involving several mysterious deaths of local men. Each victim had eaten from the same bakery shortly before dying—and all left behind the same eerie final words: "Don't listen to the whisper." As Dorian investigates, he's shocked to find that the bakery is run by Evelyn Hart, his enigmatic childhood neighbor. Strangely unchanged by time, Evelyn appears to have struck sinister bargains with the victims: in exchange for granting a wish, she offered them a choice — "lose an arm" or "hear a whisper." Everyone who chose the whisper died. The deeper Dorian digs, the closer he is pulled into Evelyn's haunting secret. Eventually, he must confront her whisper himself—and uncover the inhuman truth behind her cursed existence.
