Elizabeth is knocked out and drugged by her husband Demi, then sent to the bed of the wealthy Lister in exchange for a job. Under the drug's effect, she stumbles into Lord Moore's room and spends the night with him. Demi thinks his plan has worked—until Elizabeth suffers morning sickness, and he discovers that Lister never touched her. Enraged, Demi tries to beat her to death, but at the critical moment, Lord Moore appears and declares that he is the father of her child.
