Award-winning designer Molly Shane catches the eye of Ethan Fox, CEO of Cloud Palace International, who offers her a lucrative position. However, Molly is in a hurry to buy a birthday gift for her mother-in-law, Sylvia Shane, and declines. On her way home, Molly splurges on a luxury handbag for Sylvia. Realizing her own mother, Mrs. Shaw, will also be at the party and there's no time to buy a second genuine gift, Molly buys a knock-off version to present to her mother to avoid hurt feelings.
