Due to an innocent remark, Serena is humiliated and exiled overseas by her arrogant fiancé Caleb under the pretext of the family marriage arrangement. Over three years of relentless striving, she works her way up to become the Executive Director of Asia-Pacific at Vanderbilt Global Group.
Caleb forces her to return home for marriage on the grounds of his grandfather’s serious illness, yet continues to subject her to constant humiliation. He imprisons her in the family manor and coerces her to attend his engagement banquet with Vivian dressed as a servant. At the banquet, Holden, Chairman of Vanderbilt, publicly reveals Serena’s true identity and their engagement, delivers a devastating public rebuke, and terminates all cooperation with the Ashford Group.
Afterwards, Holden helps her secure proper medical care for her grandfather and reclaim the controlling stake of the family enterprise, and lays a trap to gather irrefutable evidence of Caleb’s embezzlement. In the end, the faithless Caleb is sentenced to prison. Serena revitalizes the family business and marries Holden, attaining complete fulfillment in both her career and love life.
